so much to say

so much to say about this life anyway,
going out tonight to take this pain away,
give me the bourbon, give me the gin,
I'll take the whole bottle so i can give in.

Never let the barkeep buy you a drink,
before you know it he'll tell you what to think.
Never let, your mind fall to the brink,
buy the whole bottle just to let it sink.

nothing to say about this life anyway,
lost in the bottom and i fade every day,
the people all around me have sold their sin,
gotta get away before it all creeps in.

take this crazy dream away,
show me the beauty of a drunken day.
give me the reason, give me true,
will one more bottle bring me back you.

It's really good...and I thought you said you wish you knew how to write? Well, after reading this, I have to say, it is something I would buy. You wrote what you felt and it just so happens to be what practically every other person in the world has felt but the way you express it is very lovely. Keep it up and you just might make it.

I can tell you every single thing in this poem, I have felt in the past few months. Like it was noted, it is a little bit sad, but sometimes I feel like writing this stuff down makes you feel better - like an incredible "release". In some sense, it feels like the person who this is about is looking for that "release" somewhere - only it is in the drink.

I loved the last stanza and especially the line: show me the beauty of a drunken day.
That seems to be what every drinker is concerned with finding, and never really finding it. Nice writing keep going.
