The Sad Parade

THE SAD PARADE
People playing parts,
Grand elaborate masks,
To hide the truth in their Hearts.

Sorrow seeps in fast
As I sit and watch
The sad parade march past.

Nothing left to say,
Great minds have had their day
Oh, how I wait for true insight to come out and play.

Good rhyme (written as tercets/triplets), rhythm and meter. Written with a sophisticated melancholic twinge intertwined in the psersonification of sorrow and of a coming of age.

I enjoyed this, it seems to flow very well and poignantly describes a deep inner sadness. Thanks for sharing!

This has a good rhythm and sense of loneliness and a terrible sadness at good things gone past.
