Ambulance
Ambulance
I am inside and hear
the star-spangled wailing,
the loud and proud
flashing of victorious
emergency.
Speeding rubber
and bright lights
I am inside and to you
people on the street,
the bending cry of the sirens
is a sign of pomp and
urgency.
I wish I could stop,
I wish I could slow down
and talk to someone, to one
of you staring at me.
But there is no brake pedal
in this annoying machine.
I wish I could tell you
how jealous I am, how painful it is
to lay my eyes on you all.
What do you talk about,
What makes you friends...
You see this commotion but you don't
even know the beginning of my weakness.
Such a wretched ugly thing I am
With these green tubes and
a stupid mask on my face.
I am so corroded with shame that
without this loathesome nurse by my side,
I would die.
The envy is killing me
I can't stop this van.
No, it's you with the problem,
I know you want to be me.
Of course you stare at my gorgeous form.
I can't stop this vehicle...
The adrenaline is wearing me thin,
and this ride is endless but
oxygen is low, the sheets are
cold and soaked,
we are going to crash.
