breath

There is something special
about this breath of yours
the resonance from the secret
red caverns of your body,
the miniature breeze past the curtains
of my soul that cools my shoulder
through each night.

There is something special about
this breath of yours
the seamless ebb and
flow to a mysterious rhythm,
one of a million that passes countless lips,
it is mine.

And I am yours.
Curled into the chest of a hero,
because of you I can bathe in this delight,
the naked body of a man.
And one of a million faces that
I could cradle in my hands,
you are mine.

I never meant to steal your heart,
you came to me like a gift that
I do not understand.
How does your blood flow,
how do you talk, what do you think of,
where are you from...
With that place in your soul so surely
shaped like me,
in complete marvelous gratitude
I salute the breath from your blessed being
and not knowing of the reason, so joyfully
I am yours.

The words flow across the lines, like a symphony to be listened to over and over and over. I love these lines - 'and I am yours/curled
into the chest of a hero.' So beautiful!

This is great as well, I was taken by the second half of the first stanza. It kinda makes you hold your breath as you read!
