that safe place in your arms
my head
resting on your shoulder
your heart beating against my back
falling asleep is easier when i'm with you
restless-awake
tired but not tired enough
watching you by breaking 4am light
as sleep takes you places
where i can't follow
while rain beats against glass
sound softened
by the rhythm of your breathing
and i tell you things though you're not awake to hear them
and mean every single one.

Such a soothing, romantic poem! I love the parallel how sleeping and not sleeping are equally easier--there is comfort just knowing love is right there beside you.
This piece really touches my soul. It's so romantic and deep without even seeming to try. I adore the fourteen and fifteenth lines; they make me want to cry.
