chrysalid

there are certain other people we all want to be
but that kind of transformation is never free
thinking yourself transformed with one layer of varnish
you dream your new self to be free of tarnish
but the skin isn't deep and reflects what it contains
and any problem that you had is carried over and remains
some peopel find it hard to be vaguely sympathetic
to someone so obviously trapped in the lie of the cosmetic
but it is ridiculous not to think beautiful people are damaged too
the butterfly's journey can cause injuries you can't undo
to think that a perfect face can never be ugly at all
to think that an attractive person has an easy ride
is reducing the world down until it's vanity small
and is ignoring all the stuff that we carry inside

Don't judge a book by its cover. Yes, wait until you taste the real vileness and evil of the inside before you say it's not your favourite flavour. Sorry, still living in my latest upload. I hear you Paul. Thanks
