Familiar Actions In Unfamiliar Territory
This alcohol breath burns
Love, entwined within hotel sheets
And Niagara spills nature's lust
Heard through cracked window,
Above tourists' flow of vacation cash
And the ache and grind of day's boring meetings
Is released, at last, comfortable but reinvented
Upon fresh territory never christened by us
But this is not a one-night stand
Instead, a heated reminder of us
Just doing what we do best
In a strange land
In a stranger bed

I love the way you can write about so many different things but still get it so right, my favourite part has to be
"But this is not a one-night stand
Instead, a heated reminder of us
Just doing what we do best" |

| At the risk of sounding repetitive, I loved the way you have captured the emotions and atmosphere of such a moment. Very Good Poem. |

Loveeeeeeeeeeeeeee this one! Will make me think of a one night stand in a different light. Mate you think up some bizarre stuff...
The first stanza should win a few prizes alone.
Spot on mate! |
