Welcome to the Bahamas
'Pretty lady get your hair braided here?'
Natives attracting tourists easily
Smooth words, thick accents bringing in money.
'Welcome to the Bahamas, my darling!'
Six buck pina colada, splash of rum
Served beachside inside of tropical fruits.
'Welcome to the Bahamas, my darling!'
Pure white sand, bluest water; paradise
Scantily clad, soaking up the hot sun.
'Pretty lady get your hair braided here?'
Each tightly interwoven set; three bucks
Criss-crossing strands of hair pulled tight on scalps.
'Pretty lady get your hair braided here?'
Asked as you wait to depart the island
With full bodied Bahamian sun burns.

| I've never been to the Bahamas, but your poem has given me some interesting insight into what it might be like. That's what good poetry does. Nice work. |
