UDA

Intelligence is dead
I'm done with the race
Constant race
Human race

Hide from the hatred
I wasn't put here to compete
I'm a lost lover
Even lost my love

God, what am I supposed to do?
All I want is Love
For the rest of my days
Only Love

Holy Holy Holy
Clear my head of this disease

Hated
So ugly
Beaten
Bloody

Misguided screams
Tortured babies
It still hits me
All the negativity

I can't live surrounded by
All the demons of the USA

At root, love is what we all want, isn't it? Recognition: being loved for our talent or work.
Intelligence; why mourn its loss? A mind without a heart (emotional maturity ... yes, there IS such a thing) is fucking-a cold and can be a weapon for evil as well as for good.
Love ... it's a ladder. From mother-love thru infatuation to real eros, on up through philos, and leveling out somewhere around agape. Doesn't matter where you start.
Your poem is strong, hits the point, is easier to read than a rant or straight philosophy, is a bit scattered in aim, is coherent in terms of need and pain.
Provoking.
Hey, it takes courage to love. To hell with the macho denial of feelings. To love makes the man.

"all I want is love"--a feeling so hard to admit. It takes so much courage to just say, I want to be loved and for someone to love me. Well written and the point very evident. **
