seeing your show

I open my mouth to catch

The words you send

Along the sweet strings of atmosphere

Smoke blaring towards the ceiling

Hanging in dark corners;

Clustered lost souls

Sipping vodka martinis through

Red lips, where smiles

Are whispered & tossed

Your way;

But your eyes seek mine

Of all the eyes clung to you

& I swallow the jealousy, acid

That threatens to spill

From my throat, when

I remember the weight of you

Next to me when I sleep,

The warm hand you offer

When I'm jarred awake

By some evil dream.
