My face is blank piece of paper
On which everyone writes but me.
My eyes are reflections
Of other people's expectations.
My life is a book
That everyone has read but me,
And they seem to have read on
A chapter ahead.
I lower my lovely eyes
And cover my pretty face.
I shave off my hair
While pretending not to care.
For all I want
Is to be recognised
As something other
Than a girl.
Just listen to my song and ignore the singer.
Hear the words and forget the speaker.

Okay, I've come to the conclusion you and I were separated at our literary birth!!! lol
To be recognized as something else other than what we are on the outside. To obtain respect not for being whatever we seem to appear to be, but for what or who we actually are. I have tears in my eyes right now because I'm reading what I've felt and what you manage to put down so well. AGAIN! You're better than any therapy. Send me your address so I can send you payment. :)
