It's Killing Me

A kiss from a lover
shouldn't feel this wrong

Countless touches
from callous fingers
brings me of
Fingers
that have killed thousands

It's hurting me
to keep this secret
It's killing me
what I do to him
what he does to me
Using each other
for different reasons

His reason
is love

Yes, now I believe
that he is capable of it
To feel

My reason
is loss

I long to feel
something
anything
other than this
This emptiness

I need to learn how to live again
like he once told me to
But I want to live in the sunshine
not in the shadows
with him

So
I will make sure
that our lips won't touch again
Ever

Author's note:
It's a Spuffy-poem. If you're a Buffy the Vampire Slayer-fan who has seen season 6, you know exactly what I'm writing about. If you're not, hope you still enjoyed.

you have done an excellent job of making fiction relatable to real life.
"Countless touches
from callous fingers
brings me of
Fingers
that have killed thousands' This stanza needs lot of work. If you can just distance yourself from it a little, I think you will see what I mean.

'Countless....thousands' does not read well
neither does 'Yes....feel'
I'm sure that you can sort it out.
No, I am not a Buffy fan, but the poem was O.K.
