The best is yet to come

As the day awakes from it's peaceful sleep
The lovingly beams of light peek in the windows
Stillness is the way of the morning
The birds are starting to flutter
The thought of that first cup of coffee
We rise with the notion that the best is yet to come
Yes the best is yet to come
The day has just awoke
There is so much to do and look forward too
Lets not wait anymore for whats to come
With that first cup of coffee
The best may have already come

Nice idea
could be very very lyrical...
especially if you simplify some of the complex lines a bit

Your poetry has improved a lot. When I read this I thought it could be a great lyrical poem with a few changes. I have no clue how to write lyrical, but others here do, and are quite good. Really I think it would make a great song.

What a breath of fresh air. This is a very sweet and optomistic poem. This work proves that good writing does not have to be full of angst. It made me feel good when I read it.
