Feed The Children
I watch the commercials on the t.v.
I cannot describe how it amazes me,
Feed the children, twenty dollars a month will do,
They send you a picture of the child that belongs to you.
They have no water, medicine, no shoes to wear,
They have no shelter to keep them from the cold air,
They have no schooling, no one to kiss them goodnight,
They have no electricity to give them light.
They cry from hunger, pain and great sorrow,
They have no hope, no future for tomorrow,
Oh how painful it is to see a child cry in pain,
To know their suffering will always remain.
I've searched my heart and cannot understand,
Feed the foreign children, while ours starve in our land,
Give them shelter a place to call their home,
Yet we leave our children in the streets to roam.
Give foreign children medicine and shoes to wear,
Let's show how great we are, how much we care,
Yet our own have no place to lay their head,
Our elderly eat cat food, and are said to be well fed.
Our men have no work or health care,
It's more important to feed the other countries out there,
I cannot believe that we Americans cannot see,
That we no longer live in the land of the free.
We are told where to live, what we can say,
You must not say God in public or even pray,
Other countries look and laugh, we are a joke,
We are even told if we can or cannot smoke.
America, they will give other countries all they need,
Gold and Silver, schools, but our children can't read,
It breaks my heart, such heartfelt pains,
America the free no longer remains.
I can only pray that God will have mercy on us all,
It's for sure other countries will not help when we fall.
