a dusting

you never dust this house
sloughing off your skin
to write layered messages in
friend to dust mite and louse

i remember you shining
that freshly minted smile
but it's now been a while
are you still pining?

this place has no visual lexicon
it is purely tactile; i itch
ten months ago something threw a switch
i'm hoping that inflammatory text has gone

the cobwebs of the necklace round your throat
the echoing sound of poems in your heart
i know exactly when this decay took you apart
i know that your disappearance will leave no note

I like the rhyming scheme here with ABBA.
"the echoing sound of poems in your heart
i know exactly when this decay took you apart" Wow. That was strong.
