Slight footfalls
Heard through the hushed corridor
Flickering light
And shadow dancing together
Simplistic views
Without a sense of honor or love
Gradual degradation
Of all that I once lived my life for
Pacifistic natures
In every human's greedy soul

Ignited passions
Quickly doused with an icy chill
Blackened heart
Without life residing within this chest
Cynicism's hope
That one day light will return
Angelic ambience
Unseen, unheard, and unknown
Darkened soul
Where no light may find peace

It's time'¦
Time to step out of the darkness
Lighthearted embrace
As the burdens fall off my shoulders
Loving radiance
Is bathed in as all washes away forever
