The wartorn green camouflaged bulging bag stares at me from the corner of the room. To me it seems like a remnant of world war II; for some it may arouse fears of 'terrorism' but I know there is wool in it or rather balls of different colored wool-white red blue pink and shades of brown.

I spent the whole day in the local China Market looking for a basket, and a jar for knitting needles, finally I found the suitable containers. After buying two extra pairs of number 10 knitting needles, I was all equipped to start a home business 'Hand made knitted baby sets'¦'¦.
Every time I would say ' I should take up a job' -my husband would say-'do something at home'-OH what am I doing at home really? What is my business? Being a housewife?

I opened a One Room Prep School ' I collected all the toys blocks stuffed animals color pencils audio cassettes of Children's songs-my two children were going to secondary school , my third child was just ready for KG 'This material was all from home-I prepared the
Syllabus, curriculum and timetable. I used my type writer for fee receipts-The name of my Home School-'White Hall Nursery' I thought you would not want to know.
The students, first five all were our family friend's kids. - Three never paid the fee and kept coming for eight months-
'Home Business was all so homely'
My investment in 1987-was in wooden furniture six benches and twelve small chairs. One portable blackboard. Only Rs 3000/-

-a supportive husband
-appropriate material
-a management plan
-co operative older kids
-little bit of normal cash
This home school lasted for 15 months only. I did not become a millionaire.



Home Based Business is serious Business. It has to be done well and with skill expertise
