Taking Flight

Transfixed in a state of awe
Lost in thought, apart from the world
Unfurled wings spread behind my closed eyes
Realized hopes reborn within my mind

Seeking escape from these internal thorns
Scorned heart begging to fly once more
To find that rose to which I truly belong
Loved with a love not known to most

No more exceptions, redemption is nigh
Dry inside a now excluded soul
Secluded in an impoverished state,
Poorest man is he without hope of love

My wings were clipped, done selfishly
Fears gripped within, doubt set ablaze
Internal desires to believe again'¦
Fires that once burned now rekindled

Angelic thoughts leading to heaven's gate
A light quake, a fall, and the wings spread,
Each feather glistening in the fading light
Taken flight, escape from what lies behind

These lines of your poem are very true. I wrote a poem like this. You must believe this in your heart, Roberto. No estamos vivos hasta que amemos. Dios te bendice, mi amigo. -E-

A very powerful look at jealousy. I am sure it is a feeling that everyone has had. Some take it to the limit though. A few errors that a good once over can correct.

Much enjoyed.**
