Yours Eternally, Mommy

Someday you will thank me,
for now you cannot grasp
what it means to love
with such intensity, as
to lose yourself completely.
Sacrificing a part of my soul
each time yours calls out.
Selflessly facing any peril,
I would fight darkness itself,
for nothing can ever harm you.
Even after my body lays withering,
I would transcend all barriers,
to be the one you call
guardian angel, forever by your side.
No! I am not capable of hating
the very being I have been
blessed to bare, as only I could.
Someday you will know real love,
when you too, can hold your heart
and soul in your arms.

This makes me think of my mom! And I love it! Its beautiful, and its perfect, and I have realized, that when you are a kid, you don't realize how much your mother does for you. And I thank you for this piece.

Beautiful. There is nothing quite so precious as our kids.
This almost makes me want to find one of mine and cuddle him. (Although mine are a bit big to have on my knee)

Very special sentiments.

Children are awesome. I admire the way they learn, who they are so sophisticated (yet so simple), how they cause mayhem, how the enjoy life and how they take things in their stride. This is an excellent piece and you sound like such a loving and dedicated mum.

I am not capable of hating
the very being I have been
blessed to bare, as only I could.

I have always wanted children...now I look forward to having a couple in the future!
