Princess

My princess
Sitting on your throne
A pedestal built by my heart
Everyday I see your face
Your expression never changes

Your smile
Seems to mock the void
Between two hearts that touch
For fleeting moments
When the passion of words ignite

Your words
Tease the unrelenting ardour
Of a caged passion too long starved
Surprised dreams leaving stains
Not discovered until the morning after

My princess
Circumstance dictates my distance
Your station is beyond my reach
Yet circumstances change
Until then I will carry the dreams, the words, and always be

Your fool.

Very nice tribute to your princess. *smiles* Sweet and wistful, as Stevie says. And trust me, same as Enrique - fools do make their princesses laugh, and it works. Helps banish the past cobwebs from the crown, if you will. Wonderful poem. Thanks for sharing. Teri xo

But fools make princesses laugh, and if you can make your princess laugh, you are winning. This is a beautiful poem. It is honest and sincere, very romantic and full of hope to someday win her.

Poignant and beautifully wistful.

"the void / Between two hearts that touch / For fleeting moments" and "Surprised dreams leaving stains / Not discovered until the morning after" were a couple of lines that especially stood out.

Lovely tribute to your princess. Sometimes fools are the most cherished possession. I like to think that since I've been a fool most of my life, maybe prince charming will come along and take me away from my run-down castle. Cheers to all the hopeful fools! Great poem.

This is a tender and charming poem. Your princess would be honored to have such a "fool", I should think. _Leah
