The Newness of things'¦

I observe the newness of things as I straddle this time in my life

I am somewhere between over 21 and middle age

I am happy with the choices I make

And the changes they inevitably bring

I can see the shiny and the bright

And appreciate it as only a child can

And the future, well the old know it is what you make it

I have made it

VERY hopeful! Of course, I don't understand why we moan and groan about getting older when it's so much easier than being young. I keep thinking of those horrible teenage years and thanking the stars above I don't have to go through that again. Some never leave those years, and I have to wonder about that, too.

Very inspiring and as Enrique said, the last line is a strong way to end it. Determination! I like that. :) Teri xo

I like these sentiments you express here, Baxter. The last line is very strong and ends this poem on a hopeful note. You say your message with few words. Very nice work. -E-
