Recurring Echo

This is how I've always wanted it.
This is how it's always been.
There's nothing else; all the same.
One state to another - no inbetween.

Kind words from kind people.
They may as well be a dream.
It's the same with them, it would seem.
Not before they disappear.

I nod, I laugh, I nod along more.
They barely notice my chest collapsing.
"You fucking bore.",
I say to a face too familiar.

by the way I meant the last verse. The other ones are really strong.

This is the strongest of your poems I've read so far. I like the ending, though the rhythm of the 2nd and 3rd lines makes them join too quickly. I know that the 1st and 3rd lines rhyme though they do so too neatly. Good stuff though. Look forward to reading more.
