What is jealousy?

The lousing up
of a dream that used to be
now gone

We grabbed on
with closed hands
and almost crushed its wings

It no longer
flies to us

Now it takes nectar
from other flowers
in life's paradise

you defined jealousy so very well...I too have let it ruin a perfectly good relationship. Once again you wrote a true-to-life poem I can easily relate to.

Good question to pose. And a good answer, the thought that relationships are as tender as butterflies is touching and so true.
