Problems are for Monday mornings

On Friday morn
I open mine eyes
and greet yet a day
with reluctant goodbyes
I pull to awaken
from dreams about bacon
and yawn to the dawn
of a day
my being gets shaken
as when I awaken
mine problems forsaken
me not
I beckon my friends
nicotine and caffeine
for a dance in a
trance ridden room
I reach for sunflower
and draw there my power
I sing in my mind
'bout the sound of a
round-a-bout lullaby
train
as sunset arise
and sunbeams subsides
the music speaks softly
the truth
I realize the problems
and worries that bind us
sleep calm until Monday
arrive

Basking in the glorious golden sun how could anyone be privy to the tumultuous clouds menacing their Monday mornings. Lovely.

title was irresistible: echo the other comments here already - your poem does have a lilting quality that soothes - word choices like yawn, trance, sunflowers, calm, lullaby just float those cares away. Nice work!

I like the melody of this and the subject matter is so familiar to modern Americans.

Great write...too many lines, that almost read like a song and dance with Friday's delight and Monday's angst. I truly enjoyed this piece. Very casual read.

There's a flow to this poem that brings forth an ease in reading it. Good job!
