(written for Honor Day)

Making the hoop
the circle
a web!
thought touches the rainbow
colors shimmer, expand outward in pride
swirling force of honor
love
respect for future lives

Yeah, it makes a lot of sense now. Thanks for the explanation.

P.S. After reading "Black Elk Speaks", I feel like a reject for not recognizing it earlier.

Hi Thanks very much!
Honor Day is a holiday they are trying to make into an offical federal holiday honoring Native Americans. So far they have been celebrating this since 1999. If you want to know more the site is at honorday.org as well as the supporting group at honordayfoundation.org (all non-profit) They speak of the Hoop, colors of the rainbow and of honor and importance of family. All about good things, is this Honor Day!

Although I'm not sure what Honor Day is, this is still a great poem. Lovely images, and the last line is awesome.
