Chains that Bind

If ice could numb,

[and that it can]

my heart's numbness;

ricoched off blue gazes.

And, tonight's no different;

another day, another season.

Just another reason,

to cut the chains that bind.

Years fade by.

Heart's detached.

Tormented inside.

Picking, proding.

Seeking the loop,

that will let me latch;

eternally keeping you.

Yet,

with both hands tied;

I witness time and fate collide.

Hearts are hence displaced;

leaving us to face fate.

Choose to sit,

I will;

in hollow cold and rusty chains.

Remembering your face,

repeating your name.

Your twisted numbness,

has found it's resting place.

Sad part is;

I accept it with grace,

sufficating upon it's embrace

Makes perfect sense. I recant my previous post.

The whole poem is about two lovers who want to be together, but despite their love, fate won't let them be. So, the last two lines are saying that even though it hurts like hell to not have that person eternally she still keeps the little piece of him that she can and she loves it and hates it at the same time. Hopefully that makes sense.

I liked the whole thing except the last two lines. Im wondering how you can accept something with grace and then at the same time sufficating on it. Seems like a strange choice of words to me.

Nice flow and word choice other than what was mentioned. Good job.
