short circuit

On the verge of crying but
unable to supress bouts of laughter
I realize you have
summed up
all of my problems and
an implied solution
neatly packaged
in four words,
stated firmly but with kindness:
"You think too much."

Tom Robbins...Awesome writer. "Jitterbug Perfume" was one of the most interesting books I've ever read.

"Switters was not much given to self-analysis. Perhaps he sensed that it forced the dishonest into even deeper deception and led the candid into bouts of dispair." -Tom Robbins, Fierce Invalids Home From Hot Climates

Alas, the great burden and most tragic of flaws among those whose cranial capacity surpasses the laymen. 'Tis a sad state of being when one finds oneself thinking too much. The only known prescribed cures are the bottle or a bullet.

P.S. I loved this poem; so short, but it says so much.
