in nature

turn through mist and be a drying tear track
the random path of the melancholy heart
as summer light turns the apple green to burning sun
we lay under windfall and let spring dream summer
the autumnal leavings of spent coinage: copper and gold
and we remember that time turns the stone to smoothness
that the feather fell from flight to float the stream
and that sunlight and night are the same journey
dandelion time and mapleboat dance all are lessons
steps along the path that change with direction
these are the prayers of the opened eye and heart

there are a lot of really incredible visuals going on in this poem. To me it's one of those rare works that is so descriptive you can almost tast it

Different tone of voice here. Is this from a longer piece? I love the more classical feel to it. It's a beautiful piece, another string to your bow.

i really love this. it almost reminds me of one of my favorite iron and wine songs, but is still beautiful in its originality.
my favorite parts:
we lay under windfall and let spring dream summer
the autumnal leavings of spent coinage: copper and gold
and we remember that time turns the stone to smoothness
that the feather fell from flight to float the stream
and that sunlight and night are the same journey
