THE PENDULUM SWINGS THROUGH DARKNESS AND LIGHT

You won't see me again

Farewell to the country of my blinded yearning
I had longed for great happiness there
Tempted by skin, and flesh, and bone,
My allaying fears of being alone -
Suddenly it all becomes clear, and I am truly alone

The pendulum swings through the darkness and light
There is nothing I can do or say
The fierce eternal black and the glow of intense bright
Encapsulated forever in a dance and sway.

I have fond memories of you both,
Especially of you, however, my love -
Yet was it love, that kept me in your arms,
Or simply my rising urgency of need,
The fact I never wanted to spend time
Like I had always spent it.

'Twas all a dream tinged in twilight.

The pendulum swings through the darkness and light,
There is nothing I can do or say,
The fierce eternal black and the glow of intense bright,
Encapsulated forever in a dance and sway.

Calm descends upon me and it is like I dwell in another world.
Mist and fog surrounds me, it is like I cannot see.
A soundless void with no screams or anger thrust upon me.
All I hear is my heart pounding.
Calling. Calling. Boom. Boom. Reaching out -
To someone I knew would answer the call.

There you were, the tears in your eyes,
Looking at me trying to forget
The way we were.
You succeeded beyond your own feelings,
You are not who you once were, but something greater.
There was me, all past forgotten, my journey returning full circle.
The suffering apparently all gone!

'Twas all a dream tinged in pale luminescence.

The pendulum swings through the darkness and light,
There is nothing I can do or say,
The fierce eternal black and the glow of intense bright,
Encapsulated forever in a dance and sway.

So now I follow my own journey,
My own path unravelling before me,
My pain and sorrow falling behind me,
Yet not forgotten.
Never forgotten.

You won't see me again.

Once again, I'm in love with your word choice. It is a haunting song that wraps you tight and doesn't let go until the end.
"You won't see me again"

I love the abrupt ending...it is as though that was The moment that the speaker had finally decided.

Craig, beautiful, emotional, sincere and harsh, blunt, to the point and painful. A very good read, great flow and inticing title.
Thanks for the read.

This is beautiful, an amazing portrayal of emotion, of pain.
