What should be said
Goodbye my friend
I wish you well
Safe journey
Please don't cry
I'd love to say
I'll see you soon
But we both know
The odds are stacked too high.
So I'll see you on the other side
Save a seat for me
We'll knock them dead
With our double act
And closing line supreme.
So here it is for one last time
With feeling, don't be shy
One two three'
'Oh God'!

| I liked this. The second stanza is comforting. We tend to think of the worst scenario when we are standing in front of a difficult challenge. It's a sad poem, but in the same time I loved that in the end, there's still that possibility that maybe, they'll make it after all, as the action hasn't happened yet. Or maybe I'm just being optimistic... :-) |
