The End Game
-Do you play chess?
Yes,
how did you know?
-I've heard the songs they sing about you
You wish to occupy me then?
-Remain I must. Protect my friends
I come for you alone
-I cannot trust your words
Yet you can trust me better than most
-If I win, I trust you'll let me go?
For now, but not forever
-We'll play again when that time comes
You hang on my decisions
-There's only one for which I care
Which is?
-When?
Not how or what next?
-Why should I heed, I just wish to prepare
There is nothing to fear
-Then why do you appear dressed in black?
Because black is your fate
-And the rest of my race?
Each one the same
-I feel tricked
You've tricked yourself
-I was told nothing
And yet you won't ask me what's next?
-One last surprise is all I request
I have you in check
-My heart beats strong, I am not finished
Then make your move
-How do you feel to be life's nemesis?
Oh, I tingle
-Only the living can do so
I admit, I am in limbo
-A facilitator for death
No, I just am so
-You'll not have my soul
The board tells a different story
-I will have my glory
Do you not see your life as this?
-I did, but what of your arrival?
Nothing lasts forever
-You do
But I don't live to
-Then let me be so I can
You wish for special treatment?
-I wish to hold onto what is mine
You're out of time
-I'm too young to die
Your king is unprotected
-I'll fight till his death
And yours too
-God promised me a different fate
Who is God?
-What do you mean?
There is nobody else but me
-That I cannot believe
Don't believe. Know
-But there must be'¦
No
-Where will I go?
So now you wish to know'¦We'll dance together in the shadows
-What of the gates!
You speak of heaven
-I do
Not for you
