new and selected

consumptive drivel of mine
- not drunken -
but perplexed.

In the 21st century prozac is prescribed
For 21st century fever
And all non-believers
Shiver above their pens in anticipation,
The revelation..
Just out of reach, but only just

I like this...it hints at a few different issues. Serious and humorous all at the same time. Good read.

Another interesting one! You have a knack ... perhaps it catches my attention and makes me think more because we seem to write about different things lol.

Personally, I have found (in rare times I've needed to take this kind of medication, and never been able to tolerate it more than a week before going natural again) that any medication - which alters my mind or changes my mood or emotions in any way - actually impedes my creativity and heightens my frustration/ I cannot go into myself for the introspection necessary for some of my writings, or draw out the creativity so well on such tablets, hence I avoid, since most of my life these days revolves around writing. When we read of those great writers with depression etc., we often find they were at their zenith when they neglected their drugs and succumbed to their manias!!!

Another interesting one that gave scope for though :)

this is a very well formatted piece. Great word choices. The theme is very effectively expressed. The first stanza was very intresting with the sunken triplette. It didnt keep with a triplette rhythm but instead had a n off meter rhythm, which really set a more serious mood for your piece.

great write, thanks for the read.
