The great yellow river of my enemies

there's a dead horse on my back
a horse pissing upstream
watching all those grand ideas
floating down the river

warm
wasted
potential

but just maybe
my enemies have set up camp
about a mile down
they have come to watch me fail

and just maybe
they are thirsty
so they head to the running water
and dip their parched lips
into the surface
of the stream

and for one brief moment
we are all thoroughly refreshed
