Sometimes I am just a solitary bird that dreams
and weaves visions in the sunset
but without you the dreams are just dreams
and visions are but illusions.
Sometimes I am but a pebble tossed in the wind
but you are the ocean that receives my longing.
Sometimes I am a rainbow ever wishing for the rain that is you
and the ray of sunlight that is also you.
We lie down together in the night sky,
wondering at the shooting stars making wishes.
We laughed at life drinking the nourishing love of our children.
We cursed the darkness struggling to be together
in our aloneness trying to be free.
We cannot escape it but the days pass by and life will close.
Yet everyday with you is so painfully beautiful.
Just one jab at life. Just one life to reach eternity.
Just one You in my heart
and everything is incompletely complete and restlessly at rest.
I am happy and sad at the same time.
