The World's A Weird Place
The world's a weird place.
The world's a weird place.
A wacky, wonky wonder
That's not to everybody's taste,
Encased in clouds of thunder.
Human iddybiddy entities
On a floating ball of rock.
What's it all meant to mean?
I'm sure the answers shocks.
We wobble along in orbit,
Passive passengers in space.
Although we may ignore it,
The world's a weird place.
What's it all about?
This glimpse we call life
That's shrouded in doubt
And teeters on a knife.
What's our ultimate purpose
As we hurry round in haste?
A scurrying species nervous
Coz the world's a weird place.
Exist and reproduce.
Be born then live then die.
Believe in bits of shattered truth
And never question why?
Believe in shit from age old books,
A Gospel truth false-face.
Worship it. It's fickle proof
The world's a weird place.
Get a girl and fall in love.
Get married. Get a home.
Do doglike work just because
Of a massive mortgage loan.
Copulate, creating life.
Continuation of our race.
Home, loan, kids and wife
Shite! The world's a weird place.
But we never know the reason,
The disease of our existence.
That life is seldom pleasing,
Will death offer a difference?
Still we trudge along regardless.
Keep up a perfect pace.
Still a sickle can discard us
And slice us from this place.
We might just make a mark,
A slight and subtle trace.
A distant light in deepest dark,
Star sparkles in our place.
