The Poets Refusal To Be False
Weaving our words,
driving them on
between conflicting impulses.
We capture the need >
and desires to define the art,
engaging the facets of irreducible
particulars and expressions.
Then Allowing reflection
only for positive definition
to emerge, as it is
teased through
the juxtaposed elements.
By way, attempting to realize
the unrealisable.
Establishing our struggle,
as central to the art.
Making genuine
the inexpressible quality,
of defining poetic semblance.
Creating virtue of
the language we use.
This is what we do!

Its an interesting description of what the poet does. There is always something so other from human about Poetry that makes one marvel and even feel humble at the craft of making words into art. There is a struggle at times, I think the struggle to master and control what seems to be controlling us because we cannot understand ourselves when we do what we do and it even requires us to work at it. Virtue, thats a nice idea about the essence of poetry.

In a way, what you describe is not, for me, so much about what it's like to write poetry, and more about what it's like to live, to search for the meaning of life, trying to create something larger than life while remaining true to one's feelings and beliefs, trying to maneuver between conflicting impulses and desires. :) Perfect.

Your words describe much of the poet's craft. I always feel we are weaving words to create emotions and help the reader visualise. I'm still not sure of the line starting 'By way..'
