Will the future blame us?

Will the future blame us?
by õ!ô~*`Bryce Dressler`*~ô!õ

When the O-Zone disappears
and the earth falls apart.
Will the future blame us
for their inevitable depart?

When the trash piles so high
it could reach the moon.
Will the future blame us
for the deaths that came too soon?

When more people live in boxes
in the middle of the street.
Will the future blame us
for the habits we couldn't beat?

When gangs run the streets
and cops no longer exist.
Will the future blame us
why they're caught in the midst?

When crimes skyrocket
and education downfalls.
Will the future blame us
when they have no leaders at all?

When the earth disappears
what will everyone think?
Will the future blame us
for pushing them over the brink?

(C) 2006 Bryce Dressler

Nice poem, nice choice of words...but the most important and best part of it is that it touched a very important subject...d subject of our very survival on earth.

Reminds me a little of Tasmin Archer's 'Sleeping Satellite'.

I like this poem, the rhythms quite strong and the rhyme scheme good and consistent. However, sometimes the stresses and the syllable count in certain lines problematises the rhythm a little bit, because you seem to be setting up a very strict, tight beat, so the longer lines therefore break the flow a little. Perhaps you could look at rewording lines such as 'when they have no leaders at all'?

Just a few minor suggestions, anyway.
