Since You

One upon a time I knew
If I fell
I’d be caught by you
Never any doubt
You always had your arms held out

Once upon a time was us
Sheltered hearts
Learning how to trust
Forgetting all the lies
For the first and only time

It was beauty, it was love,
So simple and so true
Like nothing’s ever been
Since you

Once upon a time was love
Within a world
I’d only dared to dream of
It was too good to be true
It was heaven here on earth with you

Once upon a time I knew
That I’d found my heart
Within you
And you’d found yours in me
It was the way love’s supposed to be

It was beauty, it was love,
So simple and so true
Like nothing’s ever been
Since you

Once upon a time, one day
Wonder if
I could have changed
The way things had to be
Did it have to destroy part of me?

Once upon a time, someday
I’ll see you
Will you be the same?
Will you still love me the same way?

It was beauty, it was love,
So simple and so true
Like nothing’s ever been
Since you...

lol @ Yvy

This would make a great song! I love the flow and cadence, not to mention the images and emotions. Great work, Kris. My only suggestion would be get rid of the word "that" in the last line of the 5th stanza. Minor thing. Absolutely lovely and powerful poem. T.

This would make a great sad love song. I almost started singing it as I was reading. It flows really well and doesn't feel forced at all. Now for a good saxophone solo ~ Yvylyn
