Visions of you coming off that plane
Flicker in my mind's eye
Like an old fashioned movie reel
I play over and over.
Day in, day out
While you are miles away,
I realized that you are mine
I BELIEVED it today.
The road has been rocky,
The hills have been steep,
There are times when I wondered,
Would it be your love I could keep..
Thoughts of you keep me warm at night
When I wrap your scent around my body,
Soaked in the blankets, and tangled in the sheets
We are where I have always wanted to be.
When I see you next
I just want to bury my head in your chest,
And hear you heartbeat,
Singing my name, the way it used to,
Before the numbness of routine
And the neglect of the pain
Relieved does not even begin to express
How I feel at this moment,
As each new second brings you closer to me.
I would give you the world,
If you only asked for it.
You are the sun in my sky
That burns and soothes, in moments apart
The sweet love of my life
My lover, my wife
