a perfect stranger

Our eyes met just passing by
I gave a stranger a glance
sharing one moment a questions gaze
what if we had the chance?
We missed a lifetime being in a rush;
our first words, first date, first dance;

Maybe in a past lifetime
we loved as lovers with a new found passion.
Me with my philisophical thought and you
with your great sense of fashion.
Maybe we walked as lovers walk
at night waves crashing,
full moon, cool breeze, you share with me your
troubles and I set them all at ease.

I saw it in your eyes that you
will always be mine.

We shared something beautiful with
a single line of sight when are eyes caught one
another on that bridge when we walked by that night.

I can't help but wonder about that chance,
walking by a questions gaze
a perfect strangers glance.

I don't know if you've ever read anything by Baudelaire; he was very much interested in grasping 'a moment's potential,' and wrote a poem very similar to this one, named "Ã? une passante." Honestly, I hope you ran after her. Happiness don't make great poetry, but I'm pretty sure it does something for your life expectancy.
