Might Have To Say Goodbye

Is there something to this?
Should we even try?
Cause if and when we lose us,
We might have to
Say goodbye.

A goodbye much more painful
Than all of the above.
We'd say goodbye to so much more
Than just a loss of love.

It'd mean so long to a friendship
That we swore would never end.
If things go downhill from here,
What if we cannot mend?

I fear our hearts might get tainted
By an unrequited love.
And if this soon becomes the case,
There'd be nothing left to speak of.

So before we get into it,
Just promise me one thing.
Don't ever let this friendship die,
Cause it's now a part of me.

And now that this is said and done,
Let's get on with our night.
I've wanted this for way too long
To lose without a fight.
