Healing

Today, through my tears from the loss of a friend,
I remember that others can help me to mend

You are never so lost as when your heart has stopped flying
And nothing around you seems worth the trying

Then along comes a new person who says you're okay
And hasn't a clue how they helped make your day.

The tears are still falling even as I write
But my world is no longer black as the night

I will get through this, I have done it before
But oh, this one shook me right to the core.

Yet I have inner strength forged from fires from the past
And I know that such sadness isn't meant to last

So thank you new friend, you know who you are
You are close to my heart even though you're so far.

Darra, I can truly identify with this loss of a friend. Surely the pain isn't meant to last and healing will come eventually.

Thank you Teri, this is actually a collective "new friend" - a few on MySpace and a bunch on here. So thanks for your thoughts you help in the healing. It doesn't look as if my friend is coming back into my life and it was really my fault - I haven't even begun to address that in my insides yet. I'm just getting through the pain part right now.

Healing poems are always good. Healing is always good. I hope everything is getting brighter on your side of the planet and the sun is shining. Love this; love the thoughts. :) T. xo
