blue

Pretty is as happy does it,
Happy's prettier than blue,
No is always safer than yes,
Let me show you what is true.
Crawling through the mud is secondary,
With a Major in Fine Arts,
You've got the screws and cogs here, baby,
But where all the other parts?
Crying is as happy does it,
Crying's just as plain as blue,
No is always safer than yes,
Let me show you what is true.
I've gotten my mud pies back,
I'm not so angry, not so cruel,
Mommy, I've stepped on the crack,
I didn't know the golden rule.
Envy is as happy does it,
Glaring is lovelier than blue,
No is always safer than yes,
Let me show you what is true.
I smile brightly, waiting, quiet,
Milestones skip across the lake,
Flailing, wailing, cuddles close,
Gasping as the world does take.
Smart is as happy does it,
Clever's clumsier than blue,
No is always safer than yes,
Let me show you what is true.

ah, but what is truer is that happiness is an illusion and like Einstein said that reality was an illusion is very true, and sometimes no is more dangerous. See, to say always is a "blanket statement" and nothing is always. The only constant is change. There are exceptions to every rule, and everything depends. How's that for telling thee the truth I see.

Keep writing, keep traveling through your mind, and you are going to be quite the poet someday, God and I foresee.

nice adolescent feeling to it...the pain of it, the uncertainty, the not really knowing....showing a maturity in recognizing it. thanks
