Lullaby for the Dying (a life spent unloved)

Close your eyes
Let the darkness cover you inside
Pay no mind to all the lies you leave behind
Cry no tears
There is nothing left for you in this life to see
Do not believe in the superstition of the beyond
This is the end of you
The darkness you have spent your life running from,
has caught up with you
All that is left of what you are,
will be sold away and stuffed into closets and drawers
Your life was spent unnoticed
and you will leave it the same
Say goodbye to all those lovely feelings of joy
because they will stay behind
Those who loved you will love others
Those who hated you will smile at those who cry for you

Close your eyes,
Let go,

The world has always hated you,
and you can finally leave it behind.

Do no believe - not?

A contradiction: Those who loved you vs the world has always hated you. Just a nitpick.

I like this because it's what I want to scream at those people who feign suicide by doing things like taking a lot of vitamin C or aspirin. I'll agree it's sad and very well-written, but I found it more sardonic and cynical, two things I love. Thanks for sharing. T.
