The price of ashes

From out of the ashes arise
A beautiful but terrible surprise
A secret once lost
But now darkly found
A terrible torment
To keep your hopes bound
To the shadow of a maybe
The touch of a might
The longing to look
Into the deepest places of night
To feel the touch
Of a dream once thought
That kept you coming
Even with your soul bought
By a small price
Which didn't seem hard to pay
But which now calls you again
To lead you astray
So don't look too hard
Into that deepest of places
For it might pull you in
And erase all traces
Of what was and what will be
Of a life led in quiet repose
Of all the words of the heart
That ashes can expose

Great writing indeed! Keep it up! And don't forget to change "keep" to "kept". Surely your readers wish for no distractions when construing such great writings! ;)
