Of Barflies

A blonde moth
Scaly skin
Sallow shoulders
Shuddering
Fluttering wings

Swarms of black tongues
Probe warm crevices
Feast on the sticky sweet
Bouquet of fallen rot
Yesterday's stale euphoria

Lidless eyes in unlit corners
Don't blink
Wallflowers sprout from dust
Discarded
Ashes tend to gather in trays

Another Excellent write John!
Suggestion – “Lidless eyes” already gives the image of not being able to blink, so,
"Don't blink" I feel doesn't need to be there. :)

Hot damn! You couldn't have said it any better. I love the darkness of this piece. I love that the writer appears to be just as twisted in their point of view. Adds an introspective quality to the piece. Great, great write, D.

Woah, I don't even know what to say to this. Your words and imagery are so amazing, and I love how much the title contributes to the poem. nice job.

i really enjoyed this poem, felt like i was there in a seedy bar watching the regulars tap away at their foamy life. aint it great when the seedy is kinda of alluring to the reader?!
