She stood at the train station smoking a cigarette. Her coat and hair were blowing wildly in the wind. Her face looked pale and tired. She took a long drag of her cigarette as the train pulled up. A million people seemed to rush in and out of the train. She waited. The train pulled away. The people seemed to dissolve in to the dark night. She took another drag and turned in his direction. They stood there staring at each other. There was no hug, no kiss, not even a smile. Their eyes were locked. For a moment time seemed to stop. She spun around and walked to her motorcycle. He followed her, zipping up his leather jacket. She handed him a helmet and pulled on hers. The night seemed to get darker as the bike sped up the hills. It took only a moment for her to realize that they were followed. 'Devil's split'� was no place to mess around unless you were ready to die. Her only though was of escape as she glanced at the speedometer that was just a little over 125. His grip seemed to tighten around her waist. She smiled at the though of death. Fear was a seed that only grew if you nurtured it and she learned long ago that fear helped nothing. She pulled a gun that was safely strapped to her thigh and shot a few rounds off in to the car. The screeching of the tires told her she at least blew a tire out. She smiled again and accelerated feeling the adrenaline pumping full blast.
