Catch/Release

Catch/ Release

I was a lone traveler
Searching the world for a home
Sailing from sea to port
I was left to wander and rome
The blue skies my navigator
The Silence my only friend
On guard the wind would tell me
Yet I had nothing in which to defend

'Never fall in love, young lad'
Said the man on the rocky bank
'I regretfully differ' I said
But like a ship my heart did sink
I fell in love with a city girl
Who lived by the law of the land
Practiced catch and release with me
Because she was in high demand

Every memory she gave me
Is now a stowaway in my heart
Hiding from the captain
While new waters are left to chart
Now I am but a sailor
Looking for a port to rest
Surrounded by raging waters
That refuse to decease and recess

Ill always remember
The time my ship was at port
With that gal who taught me to love
When I thought love was my last resort
O and did she have a smile
That could even make me grin
O how ill never forget her
But now im at sea again'.

Aside from "rome" (roam) I truly admire the way your poetry portrays a grand tale in the end. You're very talented <3
