JOURNEY

Through wandering fields that I have crossed through drifting seas I swim,
My journey to a wanted end, my heart crying out to win.
How long will binding breezes blow in which I am entwined,
Which pathway will be the chosen road to the treasure that I will call mine.
My soul a searching cloud in sky greyer than cold stone,
Yet bluer than the deepest ocean still I continue to roam.
Lonelines a singly companion an enemy yet a friend,
Silence in cold solitude, a wanting for all end,
Time a grain of sand that falls, a mirror of dreams I hold,
Shattered glass within my grasp, a story never told.
Climb a mountain high as hope, like an eagle I will fly,
Fulfilment is my wanted need, my hope, my reason to try,
My inner strength a tower tall, a part which you create,
A golden ray in growing dark, lost if my fear of fate,
For golden sun, a hidden guide, has took away the storm,
From sweetened rose, you became the scent, that has took poison from each thorn,
New hope a rising dawn within, beauty undescribed,
My moon in falling dusk of dawn, my one more reason to survive.

I like the closing line: "My one more reason to survive." It's worth hanging on and moving forward. We never know what will be waiting around the next curve in the path--something worth reaching out for.

Anita, this is my favorite of all I've read of your work. It's beautiful! I love the comparison back and forth between yourself and nature, and that you continue with that comparison throughout the whole piece. It's fabulous. I can't wait to read more.

Anita, A very interestingly descriptive journey indeed, which builds the picture of the journey so very well to the reader......well done! Great piece of work!

I enjoyed this poem. It filled me with a sense of determination. The flow of this poem is melodic and easy to read. At times I feel a little bombarded but it is a great writ and an even better read. ;-)

This is my favorite.
Of course you made it easy for me and explained what you were speaking about by the title.
Feel free to bash my work whenever.
