Alive For My Sins

I brought you to the gates of hell
I opened the door for you
I sent you there out of anger
I didn't mean for this to happen
I never thought I would succeed
I didn't know hell was where you would go
I think it was because you shot me
I am sorry I shot you back
I am sorry I slapped you in the face
I am sorry I stabbed you in the back
I am sorry I shot you in the head
I am sorry I fucked you while you were dead
I realized what I have done
I grabbed the knife from your back
I slit my wrist after what happened
I can't believe I didn't die
I was placed in an asylum
I was anounced dead for two minutes
I was able to open the door for you
I am sorry I couldn't get you in heaven
I can't believe I did what I did
I am not right in the head
I am alive and writing this to you
I hope you can forgive me
I will see you soon in the gates of hell
I will stay there with you for eternity
For when I die, I will not go to heaven for my sins...

Sorry, I don't agree. Anyone can put a story in a bunch of lines and call it a poem. There's no punctuation. I may be a prude, but I find profanity offensive. You have a start here, but you could easily improve it by combining lines and setting up a rhyme scheme. I think I noticed a couple of lines ending with the same sound. Work it a bit and see how you can improve it. Most poets re-work a piece a hundred times or more. I know I do.

Very dark. . .and I love it! Very cryptic, powerful, and honest. Great poem. M.

I enjoyed reading this, you have very powerful lines here; guilt is an awful feeling, and sometimes, sorry doesn't mean a thing. Good stuff. Well done.

This is great stuff, Josh. It's morbid AND funny.
"I am sorry I shot you in the head
